Record Store Day err Bike Store Day

If I remember correctly, we hit this RSD late after a long ride on fast bikes.  Peel Sessions of New Order.  Must have been right after I got the Domane because I switched the pedals on Mary's Liv in late September.

Another Record Store Day has come and gone and I'm thinking that the State of Vinyl is fine and there is no need to do this anymore.  But I saw that there were two releases that I wanted so once again I threw a leg over the bicycle, planted my ass on the seat and pedaled off to Marv's Record Shop.

It was a rainy day, so I packed a rain jacket and wore sandals and a baseball cap for its visor to shield my eyes from the water falling from the sky.  Fortunately, the rain held off until I got in the que which was then wrapped around the block.  Carried the jacket since it was finally warm and my travel mug of coffee.  The line did not help my anxiety as there were only two copies of the records I desired.  Electronic's 1989 1992 Remixes and Ultravox!'s Live at the Rainbow 1977, first time released.  No need to worry, a lot of the crowd was there for Taylor Swift and my taste of music is extremely rare in this conservative music town.  If it has banjos or John Prine it sells fast.  Anyway had a conversation with a young teacher during the wait.  What I came for did not sell out.  Taylor Swift did.  That's good because she needs the money.

After posting my scores on the interwebby, I discovered that there was another I should have picked up, Blur's Bustin + Dronin'.  I drove this time since the Pontiac needed its battery charged, again.  Then it hit me, Why not a Bike Shop Day?

Bike Shop Day would be a day that the Local Bike Shop would sell newly produced original speced bicycles.  I'd do almost anything to own that 1991 Cannondale R400, jet blue 3.0 frame with RX100 groupo.  That bike was stolen from my son.  Best climbing road bike I ever had.  Or a pre-STI Trek 2300, the green and yellow one or better yet the Trek 2500 seven tube carbon with the chrome fork.  I'd also like my Giant Via back, another stolen bike, with the nude frame, just clear coating and the brass brazing visible.

My list is almost endless, that ruby red Specialized Epic carbon... the purple Ibis tandem...some reproductions of TdF winners or TT bikes that broke records.  Great MTBs from yesterday year...

Too costly and many of the components are long gone as well as some of the manufacturers.  Impossible but it would be great IMHO.

I rode my commuter to Marv's record Store for the latest RSD. The red Vaude panniers are rainproof and the bike is a single speed so if it gets wet or dirty, no big deal.
